Around the world Dag Pike is a recognized authority on handling powerboats under all kinds of conditions. He writes for major yachting magazines all over the world, and has published over thirty books. Dag was eight when he fell in love the sea. From then on, every moment was devoted to living with it and savouring it, whatever it might bring. A ship’s officer and already ship-wrecked before he was twenty-one, he became the youngest sea captain of Trinity House, keeping our coasts clear and safe for navigation. Such experience was quickly snapped up by the RNLI, where his expertise in fast boat handling, particularly in rough weather, triggered the development of the Rigid Inflatable Boat. He wrote about boats too, and assessed their seaworthiness. Rescued nine times and himself a rescuer many times more, his favourite challenge has yet to be realized - navigating the fastest boat around the world. HB 276pp
